Achievements under SKM in Health Sector

After the formation of the SKM government in 2019, the people of Sikkim have been freed from the situation of having to suffer any kind of inconvenience even when treating more serious diseases. The government has kept the people free from financial stress even when they undergo kidney and liver transplants for more common ailments, The SKM government has proved to be a boon for Sikkim because of its giving.

The government will cover the cost of choosing a hospital for the treatment of all types of diseases and the cost of treatment as well as the cost of traveling to get treatment.

When the government was formed in 2019, from the largest STNM hospital in Sikkim to other small and large hospitals, oxygen was needed. And was being supplied by a company run by Chamling’s family. 

Within four and a half years of the formation of the government by SKM, the state Oxygen plant was installed in all hospitals. This has greatly saved health expenses.

Kidney patients in Sikkim had to go outside the state for dialysis before 2019. After the formation of the SKM government, from STNM to district hospitals, dialysis machines have been installed to provide comprehensive facilities to people. 

The SKM government is committed to providing simple and accessible health facilities to the people of all districts. After the formation of the SKM government, a community health center is being built in Soreng. A 500-bed hospital at Namchi in South Sikkim is being run on war footing.
A 300-bed district hospital is under construction at Singtam. The process of building a hospital in Pakyong has also been accelerated by the government. The government has given priority to improving the facilities of Geyzing and other district hospitals.

The SKM government has also developed infrastructure and facilities in major cities outside the state keeping in mind the convenience of people who have to travel outside Sikkim for medical treatment. The government is building Sikkim House in Mumbai to provide facilities to people who go for treatment. 

Arrangements have been made for people under treatment in New Delhi to stay in the DKK building and Sikkim House along with government doctors, nurses, and ambulances. 

Government facilities and services are provided for people in Siliguri and Kolkata and Guwahati too.

Together with the SKM government, the party formed a public welfare cell and is searching for and treating people suffering from long-term sickness.

Jan Kalyan Prokoshta is assisting the people who have come from villages for treatment by keeping staff in all hospitals.

Apart from all government and party facilities, the Chief Minister himself has been continuously supporting the treatment of people through the Chief Minister’s Health Aid Fund, due to which many people of Sikkim have been able to get rid of long-standing serious diseases.
